‘Betts’ 3-hit, 1-homer, 3-RBI performance’ 14-hit explosion powers Dodgers past Boston 7-4 [LAD Review]

The Los Angeles Dodgers pounded out 14 hits in a dominating performance.

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Boston Red Sox 7-4 on Monday (April 28) at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.

바카라사이트Starter Caleb Ferguson tossed one inning of one-hit, one-strikeout ball in the opener. Gavin Stone earned his first career win, allowing four runs on five hits (three homers) and two walks while striking out four in six innings. The bullpen of Ryan Brazier (one scoreless inning) and Evan Phillips (one scoreless inning) kept the game close. Phillips earned his 21st save of the season.

At the plate, Mookie Betts hit his 35th home run of the season, going 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. James Outman hit his 16th home run of the season. Freddie Freeman also had a three-hit game, while Max Muncy, Outman and Miguel Rojas had multi-hit games.

For Boston, starter Tanner Huac took the loss, allowing one run on five hits (one homer) in four innings with two walks and four strikeouts. Tristan Casas (21st of the season), Justin Turner (22nd), and Adam Duvall (16th) homered in the loss.

The Dodgers loaded the bases in the first inning with a Betts single, a Freeman double, and a Muncy walk, but none of the runs scored. Boston also had runners on second and third in the top of the first on a Turner single and a Casas double, but couldn’t capitalize.

After a 0-0 tie through three innings, the Dodgers took the lead in the top of the fourth on a solo home run by leadoff hitter Outman. In the fifth, leadoff hitter Freeman doubled and scored on an RBI groundout by Ahmed Rosario and an RBI single by Muncy.

The Dodgers added a run in the sixth after Austin Barnes doubled and Betts followed with a two-run homer.

Boston got two runs back in the bottom of the sixth on Duvall’s double and a two-run homer by Casas.

The Dodgers added a run in the top of the seventh when Rosario singled and stole second. Outman drove in a run with an RBI single. In the eighth, Rojas led off with a double and Betts followed with a single. Freeman followed with an RBI single and Rosario followed with an RBI groundout to extend the lead to 7-2.

The Red Sox got to 7-4 in the bottom of the eighth on back-to-back homers by Turner and Duvall, but no more runs were scored.
