The 2nd Professional Football Players Association Charity Soccer Tournament was held on the afternoon of the 16th at Aju University Gymnasium in Suwon.
The tournament was organized by the Korea Professional Soccer Players’ Association to lead the soccer culture that is created together between seniors and juniors and for dreamers.
The warmth of the KFA referees who participated in the tournament last year at the request of Secretary General Kim Hoon-ki continued this year.
The number of volunteers also increased by two. Oh Hyun-jung, 35, who participated in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and referees Kim Ji-hee, a first-level referee, and Lee Young-woon and Lee Dong-joon, who play in the K League, participated.
The referees also participated in the event as a sweet break after a long season. Football fans also applauded the referees for their hard work.
The referees were also able to playfully accept the players’ protests and jokes, raising the excitement in the stadium.
Referee Kim Ji-hee, who participated in the event for the first time, said, “I am honored to be part of a good cause as a footballer. It was meaningful to be able to celebrate the retirement of a player who has been a friend since childhood.”
Referee Oh Hyun-jung also said, “It is meaningful to contribute to the development of soccer and become a culture of respect.”
The players also expressed their gratitude for the referees’ warmth. After the game, a bouquet presentation ceremony was also held.
Kim Hoon-ki, Secretary General of the Korea Professional Footballers’ Association, said on behalf of the players, “We are grateful for the service of the referees of the Korea Football Association who participated last year. We will continue to create various programs with the referees as long as we can develop and serve football.”
Referee Lee Young-woon, who participated in the event for the first time, said, “I had a great time with soccer fans and players. If I have the opportunity in the future, I will spread the word to my fellow referees so that they can participate in sharing through soccer. Thank you for inviting me to such an important event,” he said warmly. 헤라카지노
