‘No-hitter’ Valdes-‘6G, .500’ Freeman earn Player of the Week honors

After throwing a no-hitter, Houston Astros left-hander Framber Valdez has earned Player of the Week honors.

Valdez was named the American League Pitcher of the Week, MLB.com announced on Monday.

Valdez made his first start of the season on April 2 against the Cleveland Indians, tossing nine innings of one-hit ball with seven strikeouts.

He did not allow a hit or a run in the nine innings, becoming the 16th player in Houston franchise history and the first left-hander to complete a no-hitter. He needed just 93 pitches.바카라사이트

In the National League, Freddie Freeman of the Los Angeles Dodgers was named Player of the Week.

In his last six games, Freeman has been on fire, batting .500 (13-for-26) with a 1.459 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage). He also collected two home runs, seven RBIs, and three stolen bases.

This is his ninth career Player of the Week honor.
