Rashford’s sad confession… “I dedicate this goal to my cousin who passed away”

Marcus Rashford performed a grief ceremony.

“Marcus Rashford shared the heartbreaking news of a family member’s death after Manchester United’s win over Everton,” Sports Bible reported on Aug. 28 (KST).

The Red Devils defeated Everton 3-0 in the 13th round of the English Premier League at Goodison Park in Liverpool, England, on Nov. 27 (KST), thanks to a stunning overhead kick by Garnacho. Rashford scored a PK goal in the match.

In the seventh minute of the second half, Ashley Young tripped an incoming Marshall in the box and a PK was awarded. Rashford converted the PK into the top left corner to give United a 2-0 lead. Rashford was seen looking up at the sky as he celebrated.

Rashford later took to Instagram to dedicate the goal to his late cousin. “I would like to dedicate yesterday’s goal to my cousin who recently passed away,” he wrote alongside two photos from the game.

It was Rashford’s second goal of the season, the last coming in a 3-1 loss to Arsenal in early September. For Rashford, whose confidence was low, Bruno Fernandes made the gesture of conceding the goal to give him a boost.

“I felt Rashford needed a confidence boost and I was 100 percent sure he could convert the penalty because he’s a good penalty taker,” Fernandes told Sky Sports. 무지개토토 도메인

“It doesn’t matter who takes the penalty, it’s all about converting the penalty and Rashford did that perfectly. Both strikers and wingers want to score goals, they need to score goals. It’s part of their game and it gives them more energy,” he added.

Fernandes concluded, “After the penalty, Rashford was unstoppable. I think sometimes you need a chance like this, a chance to get your confidence back, and Rashford was a big help for us.”
