Andre Onana made another costly mistake.
Manchester United drew 3-3 with Galatasaray in the fifth leg of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) Group A match of the 2023-24 season at 2:45 a.m. ET on Tuesday at the Neft Stadium in Turkkiye Istanbul. The result leaves United in fourth place in the group with one win, one draw and three losses (four points), while Galatasaray are third in the group with one win, two draws and two losses (five points).
The outcome of Game 6 will be crucial, with Bayern Munich now in first place and the fight for second still up for grabs. United must win the upcoming Game 6 against Munich on the 13th, and then look forward to the Copenhagen vs Galatasaray matchup.
If either team wins that match, United will be out of the running for the round of 16. Conversely, if United wins against Munich and Copenhagen draws with Galatasaray, United will finish second in the group with seven points and Copenhagen and Galatasaray will finish with six points.
On the day, United went with a 4-2-3-1 formation. Rasmus Hojlund was back up front, with Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandez, and Anthony supporting the attack from the second line. Sophien Amrabat and Scott McTominay partnered in the back three, while the back four was Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The goalkeeping gloves were worn by Andre Onana.
Galatasaray also lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Mauro Icardi was in charge of the attack, with Wilfried Zaha, Dries Mertens, and Hakim Ziyech playing just below him. The midfield consisted of Tanguy Ndombele and Lucas Torreira. The defense was made up of Angelinho, Abdulkerim Bardakci, Khan Aihan, and Sasha Bui, with Fernando Muslera in goal. 보스토토 주소
It was United who struck first. In the 11th minute, an attacking move from the right flank started with Anthony and ended up with Bruno through Hooper. The ball was played out to the flank, where it was picked up by Garnacho, who struck the top of the near post with his left foot to take the lead.
United added a second. In the 18th minute, Shaw’s one-timed pass from the left flank was collected by Bruno in midfield and he rattled the net with a stunning mid-range shot. But United were one goal down. In the 28th minute, Ziyech slotted home a free kick from Bruno that fooled Onana perfectly. The first half ended with United leading 2-1.
The second half saw more goals. United were the first to smile. In the 10th minute of the second half, on a counterattack, Anthony drove the ball forward and slipped a pass to Wan-Bissaka, who was overlapping on the right flank. Wan-Bissaka got on the end of it and sent in a cross that the onrushing McTominay slipped and slotted home. The score was 3-1.
