Vinicius, racist again…Sevilla fan who made monkey gesture
Vinicius Junior has been racially abused again.
Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Sevilla in the 10th round of the 2023-24 Spanish La Liga at the Ramon Sánchez Pizjuan in Seville, Spain, at 1:30 a.m. ET on April 22. With the point, Real remained atop the league standings.
Real took the lead midway through the second half through an own goal by David Alaba, but Dani Carvajal equalized shortly afterward. Real had several good chances on the day, but it’s a shame they weren’t able to find the back of the net. In the meantime, Girona picked up three points and moved level on points with Real.
There was more bad news. Their key striker, Vinicius, was racially abused by a Sevilla fan. Multiple local media outlets reported that a Sevilla fan made a monkey-like gesture towards Vinicius in the closing minutes of the second half. It was a clear act of racism, and the fan was so enraged that he went to the stands and almost got into a confrontation, but luckily the players intervened.굿모닝토토 주소
Sevilla responded well. After the game, Sevilla released an official statement saying, “We condemn all racist and xenophobic behavior and will work closely with the authorities to ensure that action is taken accordingly. The fan in question will be subject to the club’s robust internal disciplinary procedures and will be stripped of his membership,” the club said, clarifying their stance and revealing what punishment would be handed down to the racist fan.
Vinicius added: “I would like to thank Sevilla for their quick response to another sad episode in Spanish football. Unfortunately, I came across another racist video. It was a child’s video, and it’s sad that there’s no one to educate him.”
This is not the first time Vinicius has encountered racism. Vinicius has been the target of racism on a regular basis in recent years. Most notably, during a match against Valencia in May, Vinicius got into an altercation with a fan after racist comments were directed at him, and was racially abused before being sent off. The situation was so serious that the Brazilian president himself addressed the incident.
However, the attitude of some fans hasn’t changed since then. Five months after the incident against Valencia, Vinicius was racially abused again.
